Roseville Lutheran Church joined the growing number of congregations around the country that emphasize the healing ministry of the church in all areas of people’s lives–body, mind and spirit.
One way we do this is by having a faith community nurse lead our Health and Care Ministry. In July of 2011 we again filled the position of a Parish Nurse. A Parish Nurse works along-side our pastors to enrich and expand our whole-person ministry approach by providing health- and wellness-related resources to our congregation with a spiritual perspective.
Faith community nurses are registered nurses who have gone through additional training to serve a congregation. At the core of their belief is that all persons are sacred and must be treated with respect and dignity. They will not do any hands-on nursing except Blood pressures, but are equipped to
- Provide spiritual care
- Help you understand your medical diagnosis and treatment
- Connect you with community resources, home healthcare or therapeutic services
- Educate our congregation in maintaining health, lowering health risks, preventing illness or managing diseases already present
- Facilitate and/or connect individuals with support groups
If you or a loved one have a health-related concern, need support, special care or are looking for resources, please contact the Parish Nurse for assistance.
