About Confirmation

Confirmation ministry at RLC is a time for 7th, 8th and 9th grade students to explore their faith and their relationship to God in Jesus Christ. Through music, large-group worship, messages and small group discussion and service students explore the basic Christian beliefs that the Lutheran Church confesses.
Confirmation is...
- rooted in Christian baptism. It is commonly called Affirmation of Baptism.
- a process of learning and growth in faith in Jesus Christ.
- a ministry shared by parents, pastors, small group leaders, the students and the congregation as a whole.
- a journey and a milestone in the faith life of Lutheran Christians. Confirmation is not the ending of a student's life in the congregation, but it is the beginning.
- a time of personal confession for students where they grow to the point of publicly professing their faith in Jesus Christ. As an "affirmation of Baptism," it is a time for students affirm their belief in Jesus.
- one of the ways that a person becomes a member of a Lutheran congregation.
