I am sure that you, as a parent, have heard the statement that, “faith begins at home”, but wonder where to begin. Parents often feel unqualified, or at best, unequipped to nurture the faith of their children as part of their life together as a family. Numerous studies have shown that parents have the greatest impact and influence on the faith and faith life of children.
The church is here to support you in raising faith-filled children. There are new resources that will be available to parents and families as part of Cornerstone including at home discussion guides and a family magazine that will be sent directly to your home quarterly. But those are just a couple of tools.
Beginning on October 9, and continuing on the 2nd and 3rd Sunday of each month through May 2012, parents are invited to gather in Room 40 at 10:10 a.m. for an ongoing session based on Mark Holmen’s book, “Faith Begins at Home.” Each session will include presentation, small group discussion and sharing of ideas and practices. As parents connect with one another they will be guided and equipped to actively nurture the faith of your children at home. Kim Rehfeldt, Director of Children’s and Family Ministry will serve as facilitator for the sessions.
