Together, we celebrate the lives of those loves ones who have passed away. Tears become joy as we give thanks for the different they have made in our lives. Being together matters as we share the hope and promise of God’s love in Jesus. Come light a candle of remembrance for those you care about. On November 5 and 6, weekend worship will celebrate All Saints’ by giving thanks for the lives of all the saints who have preceded us and opening ourselves to God’s promises. We will pay special honor to those who have died from our congregation in the past year, remembering them in prayer. This is a touching event to remember our loved ones and share God’s grace with others who are feeling loss. Worship will include Holy Communion and the lighting of candles in remembrance. The will be an opportunity to sign the “Ribbons of Remembrance” with your loved one’s name in Luther Commons. This moving worship opportunity can be a help for continued healing and for immersing ourselves in the sparkling good news of resurrection in God’s grace. Invite a family member and/or friend to share this special occasion with you. |

Jeremiah 31:31-34,Psalm 46,Romans 3:19-28,John 8:31-36 |
Four-hundred-ninety-four years ago, in 1517, Martin Luther nailed his “Ninety-Five Theses” to the door of the Castle Church in Wittenburg, Germany. It is recognized as the beginning of the Reformation, the beginning of the Lutheran Church and now regarded as the beginning of all Protestant churches. One of Luther’s primary issues was for the Church to recognize the priesthood of believers. This weekend we are emphasizing that we are the Body of Christ, collectively and individually. The Church is always in need of reform and we know that God’s Spirit is at work with in us and within the Church to help us become more like the “Body of Christ” that we already are. |
