RLC Tanzania Mission Celebration
Sunday, June 12 - 9:00 and 10:30 am
Celebrating our 20 Year Partnership
Roseville Lutheran Church has been in a companion relationship with a Lutheran parish in Tanzania for twenty years. As part of the Bega Kwa Bega (Shoulder to Shoulder) program of the Saint Paul Area Synod, RLC has walked together with the Ng’ang’ange congregation since 2002 to our mutual support and benefit. On Sunday, June 12, we will celebrate this partnership with prayer, word, and music during worship services at 9:00 and 10:30 am.
Prayer, Projects, Presence
The “three pillars” of our relationship with Ng’ang’ange are prayer, projects, and presence. We promise to pray for one another, contribute to projects that support evangelism, education, economic development, and meet face-to-face during visits whenever possible. Our main project at RLC is providing scholarships for secondary school students from the Ng’ang’ange parish. RLC members and clergy have traveled to Tanzania several times, meeting with parish leaders there to learn from one another, and worshipping together with the Ng’ang’ange congregation.
Special Guests on Sunday, June 12
We are honored to have two guests from Tanzania join us in worship at RLC on Sunday, June 12. They are Pastors Lusungu Msigwa and Nixon Mwitula, both currently studying here at Luther Seminary. Both are former students of Pastor Rolf and Nancy Olson when they were living in Tanzania and teaching at Iringa University. Pastor Mwitula will preach at RLC that day. This will be a great opportunity for us to learn more about the Lutheran church in Tanzania and about RLC’s unique relationship with the Ng’ang’ange parish.
Bwana Yesu Asifiwe!
At RLC we strive to love God and love our neighbors, including those in the Ng’ang’ange parish. By doing so we are helping to build a global community united by grace. Lord Jesus be praised! Bwana Yesu asifiwe!
