Many years ago, members and friends of Roseville Lutheran (RLC) began an endowment fund to help enhance and extend the ministries and outreach of the congregation. Over time the fund has grown through individual donations, estate plan gifts, memorials and proceeds from the Love Light sales each year. With each contribution, donors have entrusted their dollars to help meet the future needs of RLC and our community.
The RLC Endowment Fund accepts gifts of money, securities and properties, both real and personal. Gifts to the Endowment Fund are exempt from federal and state inheritance taxes and capital gains taxes. Gifts given individually qualify as deductible for tax purposes.
Each Christmas, RLC members and friends honor loved ones through the Love Light program. Love Light donors may sponsor a star as a memorial or a tribute to someone who has touched a life in our congregation.
The Love Light annual fundraiser runs from mid-November through early December. You can order Love Lights in the Luther Commons after each service (excluding Thanksgiving) or in the church office on weekdays. Donors may pick up cards at the Love Lights booth or in the church office to send to loved ones telling them about their Light, as well as place a personalized star to be hung in the Worship Center. During the Festival Christmas Concert in December, we dedicate our Love Lights display.
Love Light donations will be added to the permanent investment funds of the Roseville Lutheran Church Endowment Fund.
The RLC Endowment Committee guides the use of the Endowment Fund and gifts designated to the “RLC Endowment Fund.” While the principal of gifts remain in the Fund in perpetuity, the earnings are distributed as grants twice annually. Since 2005, the Fund has distributed nearly $100,000 in grants. Grants from the Fund are awarded for seed money, education, capital projects, missions, benevolence, worship and music. Grant applications are accepted and reviewed by the committee twice annually. The grant deadlines are May 1 and Oct. 1.
