Dear Readers,

This is week seven of our devotion, this week we hear the crucifixion story. It isn't an easy one to read. Even if you've heard it many times before, we once again read, hear and tell the story of a God who loved us enough to die.

This week you'll be reading John chapters 18 and 19. In these chapters you'll find:

• Jesus' arrest.
• Peter's denial.
• Jesus being beaten and flogged.
• Jesus' crucifixion and death.

You have some faithful friends at Roseville Lutheran who have written about these difficult things. Take your time reading, listen for the moments of hope and wonder even in the midst of the hardest story told. As you read, listen for how God is calling you to live, serve and love those around you. This story is one that may compel you to love even more deeply.

Breath deeply, reflect, pray, and give thanks for the hope we have in Jesus.
