March 23 Message from Pastor Lauren

We have made the difficult –
but we believe faithful and responsible – decision
to suspend all worship and in-person gatherings
at Roseville Lutheran Church until further notice.

Monday Afternoon, March 23, 2020

Dear Members and Friends of Roseville Lutheran Church,

Things have changed drastically over the past days and weeks as we, a community of faith, have been assessing our worship and programs due to the Covid-19 virus. Today we have made the difficult – but we believe faithful and responsible – decision to suspend all worship and in-person gatherings at Roseville Lutheran Church until further notice.

Roseville staff are being asked to work from home whenever possible and our campus will be closed throughout this time.

Here is a short update of how we continue to be a community united, even during times of physical distancing.

WORSHIP ONLINE:

We continue to offer our Sunday and midweek Lenten services online via Facebook and on our church website at www.rosevillelutheran.org/worship/stream

While we will not be worshipping in person for our Easter services we will still proclaim together our Risen Lord and will be posting our Easter service on Sunday, April 12th. We are, however, hoping to “fill our pews (virtually, of course).” We are asking all members and friends to send in a picture of your household. These pictures will be hung on our pews for Easter Sunday as a virtual representation of our community of faith. Please send in your pictures to

DEVOTIONS AND BIBLE STUDIES:

Daily devotions, storytime, and videos for our youth and children are being posted both on our website and Facebook page. This week we are working on plans for Adult Education classes to go online as well. Devotions are sent out via email and can be found at www.rosevillelutheran.org/stories. To be added to our email list, please click here.

What you can do:
  • Pray for all people during this time.
  • Let us know how we can support you during this time. Pastors are available for emergencies through our Pastoral Care line at 651-300-9824. Prayer requests can be sent via email
  • Stay connected with one another through online resources, phone calls and emails. Check in with one another. Many of you have signed up to be a part of our “Care Calling Team” as a part of our outreach to reach out to our community of faith. If you are interested in being part of our “Care Calling Team”  especially for our members who are 70 and older, please contact Dave Booms at
  • Our hospitality team has been busy preparing homemade meals for those in need. We are also seeking drivers to deliver these meals. Contact Diane Sell at if you are interested in joining our team of drivers.
  • We continue to stay in touch with our community partners like Sheridan’s Story and Keystone Community Services. While we are no longer able to receive food donations due to our building closure, please consider making an online donation to support these organizations at www.rosevillelutheran.org/givenow.
  • Continue to give. This period will create some unusual and unexpected needs. For example, our desire to provide homemade meals to those in need during this time has been a success and one we wish to continue.  To support unexpected challenges like these, we need your ongoing help.
There are several options for you to continue your donations during this time:
  • Visit www.rosevillelutheran.org/giving/offering to make a one-time gift or set up a recurring offering.
  • Text-to-Give: Text <amount> to 651-383-1504.
  • Mail your gift to Roseville Lutheran Church, 1215 Roselawn Ave. W., Roseville, MN  55113
  • Contact Laurel at 651-487-7752 x203 or with questions.

In the meantime, thank you for the ways in which you have responded to this situation. Thank you for your prayers, your support, your witness and work in the world.

Blessings,

Lauren J. Wrightsman
Senior Pastor

Music is not cancelled. It will just sound a little different for awhile.
Church is not cancelled. Worship will just look a little different for awhile.
Relationships will not be cancelled. They will just feel a little different for awhile.
Faith will not be cancelled. It will grow in different ways for awhile.
Love will not be cancelled. In fact, we need more of it for awhile.

– Tom Trenney, a church musician from Lincoln NE

And remember
I am with you,
even to the close of the age!”

– Matthew 28:20
