Movin’ on to ‘greener fences’

Posted by KJ Bach on

First report is about our sick team member, Pastor Steve, who has been in bed for two days with a bad cold. Today he arrived at breakfast greeted with a round of applause. At the Friday midday worship services for the CCE kids, he gave the sermon, so it was a good thing he was feeling better! In a couple more days he hopes to be feeling much better and ready to travel to Nice for some real R&R.

Yet another day of ‘windows’ and ‘soffit painting’…. Another ’10 windows’ showed up in the Garden for glazing and painting. However, the reality of those ’10’ windows was 32 windows (Slovak Math anyone ??). The Window Crew must have over 150 windows they have scraped, glazed, taped and painted! WOW… WHAT A CREW!!! Kathy, Mary, Vicky, Linda, Tana and Jim desire the tenacity award!

The Soffit crew of the ‘honeymooners’ (Bob and KJ) completed their work this afternoon and had the ‘scaffold parade’ one last time… rolling the scaffold from behind the dormitory to the back of the parsonage. JOB WELL DONE!! Or in the words of Janko ‘veľmi veľmi dobre’ (very very good!).

The office painting crew turned into a two person coving and carpet crew. Don, Marge, Rich, & David moved on to ‘greener fences’ while Julie and Dave installed vinyl coving and helped Jaro and Janko with the carpet installation. Furniture can be moved back tomorrow! The CCE office staff will be thrilled to be back into their clean, fresh offices next week!!

Speaking of ‘greener fences’… it would seem that many of us may be recruited for painting the fence behind the church…. with that beautiful ‘Slovak green’ paint tomorrow when 40+ elementary school parents along with their kids, CCE Staff and the Builders Group will spend time together to cleanup the campus yard. I’m sure Slávka will have a llloonngggg list of tasks to be assigned.

As I sat in the Dining Hall today hearing the noise of the kids and eating a nutritious lunch, I couldn’t help but think of my Mom and her contribution to the renovation of the Dining Hall 3 years ago. She would be very pleased to see how well the Dining Hall is worked despite it’s small size for over 308 kids! PRAISE THE LORD!!

Keep those prayers a-comin’… we still have must work to be done in our last couple of work days. D’akujem (Thank you)….
