With great excitement we are but one day from our departure as a Builders Group to Martin, where the staff and students are just as excited to receive our hands and feet and strength!

The project work looks to be demolition of existing walls where the Physics and Chemistry Labs will be built. We might get far enough along to start building walls! Tear ’em down… and build ’em up! That’s was we do best! Just as Christ has, for some of us, had to tear apart our lives, through time and with Christ’s help, rebuilds our life to be HIS servants. Then He calls us to share our servanthood with others in our family, our community and the world, and for the next 12 days our place of service is in Martin Slovakia.

Jozef Sopolia, Principle of the Lutheran Academy of the CCE, has been in our midst this weekend, telling the stories of just 12 years ago the Lutheran Academy started with one classroom of 25 1st Grade students and today there are over 500 students. The need for more classroom space has been resolved with the purchase of the adjacent publishing house building, but the building needs renovation and reconfiguration. There is a lot of work to be done … and it takes wiling hands and feet, but also an enormous amount of funding to take this shell of a building and turn it into a school.

During our worship service this morning the eight of us (Julie in absentia) were ‘commissioned’ or sent as missionaries/servants representing our congregation to Martin, Slovakia. We ask for your continued prayer support, praying for our safety, our health and how we can again demonstrate the sharing of God’s Love with all whom we encounter.
