For the Builders Group to have an entire day off, particularly at the end of our work days is unprecedented! Today was a FREE DAY, but frankly, it was not spent napping! (Except for Kathleen who has a cold). Last minute shopping for souvenirs or gifts, or for one last trip for ice cream (zrmzlina), or a quick trip to Sklabina Castle ruins and Museum or even the Ecco Shoe Outlet. And then there was PACKING! For many of us, what we left behind or used or ate was quickly replaced with gifts or candy or souvenirs. Not much room for trinkets that might be bought in France!

The Farewell Party was again a wonderful time for saying THANKS to everyone who participated in this amazing time. Those of us from RLC connected with 3 of the 4 students that our congregation supports with a sponsorship. It was great to chat with them for part of the evening. The music was a 4 person Slovak band with a ‘cimbal’ (a hammered dulcimer type instrument), a violin, bass violin and accordion. Such happy and energetic music was enjoyed by all. Only an isolated downpour interrupted the music while they moved inside to finish their time with us.

The CCE Staff has been most accommodating to our group and we are thankful for our time together. We both say ‘we motivate each other’. Let us all continue to pray for each other in this ministry and mission field to bring the GOOD NEWS of Christ to more of the Slovak nation. With the situation in the Ukraine and now a new Slovak President we know how precious this time of ‘openness’ is to get God’s Word and Love instilled in as many hearts as possible. We ask God to help and guide us!

Editorial note: It is with a humble heart that I am a part of this incredible ministry. God has chosen ME to be here. I think back to 2004 when I reluctantly answered His call the first time. I am now completing my ninth Builders Group mission trip. Is God calling you to be a part of a ministry you feel unequipped for or think you don’t have the time or money. I encourage you to answer God’s call… His still small voice and hang on for an adventure. Remember… God does not call the equipped, He equips the called!!
