Last spring we held an inter-generational event to make paper out of the many prayers, concerns, joys and sorrows that were written on colored sheets of paper during our Lenten Worship services. We tore up these laments and prayers into small pieces to make paper pulp. If you looked closely, you could still see some letters and even short words in the pulp. After pressing this pulp through the paper presses crafted by the late Terry Woeltge, this new paper was then sprinkled with wildflower seeds. We asked those that participated to plant the paper after it dried to see these prayers grow into flowers. What a joy to see the flowers that burst through the ground this summer! Some of this paper was planted outside the southwest entrance garden.
