My name is Dick Carlson. My wife Carolyn and I are members of Roseville Lutheran Church and I am presently employed here as part-time Visitation Pastor (12 hours per week). I began this work in February 2015 and am working closely with Pastor Lauren and Pastor Sara and the Care Team, calling on members of RLC who are in care centers and rehab facilities, senior residences, and in their own homes. I appreciate hearing the sacred stories of people – and the opportunity to bring the Word, Holy Communion, prayer and a song with my visit. I am thankful to be a part of this ministry of RLC.

We have lived in our home in Falcon Heights for 43 years near the State Fair Grounds. Our family were members of RLC for 14 years in the 1970s and 80s. I was teaching at Sunrise Park Jr. High School in White Bear Lake at that time. In 1985 I enrolled at Luther Seminary in St. Paul and completed my studies in 1989, and then served two churches as Pastor in the St. Paul Area Synod: First Lutheran (7 years) and Galilee (11 years). We returned to become members again of RLC when I retired from Galilee in 2007. We have three sons who are married and have children (two of the families are members of RLC). Carolyn helps serve Communion and I sing in the Choir. We are richly blessed to participate in the life of the community of faith at RLC. I have been an active member of the Midway YMCA in St. Paul all my life. I love to dig in the dirt in our yard and get our canoe in the water and paddle.
