Stay Home MN

Thursday, March 26, 2020

On Wednesday afternoon, March 25th, Governor Tim Walz addressed the state declaring a “stay at home” order for the Minnesota residents for the next two weeks.

We, like many of you, are anxious and eager to worship with you again. We long for times of fellowship, study, prayer, coffee, friendship and community outreach and ministry. However, we are listening to the experts from the CDC, taking guidance from our state officials, and this week decided to postpone any in-person gatherings until further notice.

First and foremost we need you more than ever! We covet your prayers, your love, your ministry, and your action. We are a people united by grace and we are so thankful for the multitude of ways you continue to live into the calling to love God and neighbor.

This week at our weekly staff meeting (a ZOOM meeting, of course) our staff shared ways in which they have seen God at work in the past few days. They shared stories of reaching across the generations through our “Care Calling Tree,” connecting with both young and old through social media, the joy of someone who received a homemade pasta meal, the enthusiasm of those who have stepped forward to deliver these meals, and staff shared emails from members and strangers who have worshipped with us online.

Love God • Love Your Neighbor

This is the work of the Church!
And we thank you for being part of it!
In the meantime, we look forward
to worshiping with you and your family online.

PALM SUNDAY, APRIL 5
(Parade Planned for April 2)

Join us for a Palm Parade on Thursday April 2! Come anytime between 2:30 and 4:00 pm. Enter our South Parking lot from Roselawn Avenue, a palm will be put under your windshield wiper with appropriate “physical distancing” guidelines observed. Wave your palm to other RLC friends as you drive out of the parking lot again. We'll take photos/video of this and share with the congregation. Join us for our Worship Video on Sunday.

MAUNDY THURSDAY, APRIL 9
GOOD FRIDAY, APRIL 10

Maundy Thursday and Good Friday will be online at 7:00 pm each evening at 7:00 pm.

EASTER SUNDAY, APRIL 12

As we won’t be worshipping together on Easter, please send in a photo of you and/or your family (and pet!) to (Link works again!) We would love to “fill our pews" (virtually, of course!) and will place these photos on our pews for Easter Sunday. Join us online, as for other services.

We will also be celebrating the sacrament of Holy Communion for Easter. Perhaps you will consider joining us in online worship and participating in sharing this sacrament with your family on Easter Sunday. It is a powerful sacrament where we remember:

“For where two or three are gathered
in my name, I am there among them.”

(Matthew 18:20)

ONLINE STORIES, DEVOTIONS

We will continue offering devotions and Storytime online. All these are archived at www.rosevillelutheran.org/stories. Please check our Facebook page and our website for other updates, and ways to stay connected as a community united by grace.

ADULT EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES

In the next few weeks you will also see opportunities for adult education online. Members of RLC - Dr. Jim Boyce and Dr. Chris Gertz will be offering online education throughout this time.

OUTREACH CONTINUES!

We are also continuing our outreach to our community ministry partners and our local school district to address needs they may have that we are able to fill. Contact Dave Booms at if you wish to be part of our “Care Calling Tree” or Diane Sell at if you wish to be part of our meal ministry, delivering meals to those most in need.

IMPORTANCE OF SELF CARE

We pray for all of those affected by loss of income, loss of child care, heavy work loads, anxiety, loneliness and worry. In the next few days we will be updating our website with resources for those who are in need of care for mental or physical well being.

These are certainly unprecedented times, but the Holy Spirit continues to be at work within and among us in awesome and tremendous ways! We are truly, a community united by grace and for that we give thanks to God!

Blessings,

Pastor Lauren Wrightsman, Pastor Sara Spohr
